River Valley Credit Union’s 64th Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, June 26th, at the Quality Inn & Suites in Ames. Registration will begin at 5:15, with a meal served at 5:30.
All members are invited and encouraged to join! There is no cost to attend, and you have the option to buy a meal ticket for $7. Meal tickets are available for purchase at any RVCU location from May 1st to June 13th.

Board of Directors Election
During the meeting, three member-owners will be elected to our volunteer Board of Directors, each serving a three-year term.
The following three candidates have been selected by the Nominating Committee for consideration:
Carol Belzer
Carol has been a member of RVCU since 1978. She retired 7 years ago and worked as a civil servant for 44+ years. During this time, she worked as a Clinical Scientist, an instructor for the University of Puerto Rico, and then as a microbiologist in research and regulatory affairs. Her family moved to Ames 47 years ago. Carol has served on the Board of Directors from 1991-2000 and currently since 2019. She is married (52 years), has 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Carol loves to sing, read, and serve in her church.
Cheri Pearson
Cheri has been a member of River Valley Credit Union since 1983. She is currently a board member, having filled the remaining term of a previously departing Director. She retired from 3M Ames from the Human Resources Department after 37 years of service. She and her husband are both retired and live in Huxley. She spends most of her summers fishing with her husband on the Mississippi River across from Red Wing, MN at their summer home. She has two children and 7 grandchildren.
Ricardo Martinez II
Ric is our newest RVCU Board member, having been on the board since December 2024. Ric retired from law enforcement at the end of 2023, having worked in Clinton, Iowa, for nineteen years, started in Nevada as the Sergeant in 2004, became Chief of Police in 2011, then Public Safety Director in 2013. He and his spouse Carla live in Nevada and are avid Iowa State fans, including working part-time at Hilton Coliseum. Carla and Ric have been married for 19 years, have 6 children, and one grandchild.
Acceptance of Additional Candidates
Any member with an interest in serving on the Board of Directors should submit a petition with 60 member signatures and a brief biography to the Credit Union’s Nominating Committee by April 28, 2025.
