River Valley Credit Union’s 65th Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd, at the Gatherings Event Venue in Nevada. Registration will begin at 5:15, with a meal served at 5:30.
All members are invited and encouraged to join! There is no cost to attend, and you have the option to buy a meal ticket for $7. Meal tickets are available for purchase at any RVCU location from May 1st to June 8th.

Board of Directors Election
During the meeting, three member-owners will be elected to our volunteer Board of Directors, each serving a three-year term.
The following three candidates have been selected by the Nominating Committee for consideration:
Joel Halverson
Joel has been a member of RVCU since 2007. Joel and his wife Sarah moved to Story City in 2024. They have two boys. Joel has an MBA in Finance from Iowa State University. Joel enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and gardening. Joel has been a member of the RVCU Board of Directors since May of 2018 and has served as Chief Financial Officer since September of 2018.
Jeffrey Starnes
Jeff, originally from Sidney, Iowa, has lived in Story County since 1979. He has been a member of River Valley Credit Union since April of 1993. Jeff graduated from Northwest Missouri State University, earning his BS degree in Animal Science. He is also a Vietnam Veteran. Jeff retired in 2018 after a 42-year career as a Commercial Pilot. Jeff and his wife, Marijo, live in Colo, Iowa. Together they owned and operated the Marijo Starnes School of Dance, Inc., in Nevada until June 2010.
Kevin J. Anderson
Kevin and his wife Malissa have lived in Huxley since 1998. They have 3 children that keep them very busy. His family enjoys camping, fishing, archery and other outdoor activities. Kevin has been a member at RVCU since 2002.
Acceptance of Additional Candidates
Any member with an interest in serving on the Board of Directors should submit a petition with 60 member signatures and a brief biography to the Credit Union’s Nominating Committee by April 24, 2026. The Committee, consisting of Cheri Pearson, Carol Belzer and Ric Martinez, can be reached at:
