8 Trip Ideas to Make the Most of Summer

Have some fun this summer while soaking up the sun! Make new memories you'll treasure forever. Below are some awesome summer vacation ideas that your whole family (or friend group) will love.
1. Go on a road trip
Plan your route (or don't for some added adventure) and hit the road. Explore unique spots and tourist attractions along the way. Be sure to take plenty of pictures, too!
2. Relax at a local beach
I know what you're probably thinking, Iowa is nowhere near the coast. However, you don't have to go far to play in the sand or chill out along the shore. It's not exactly the ocean, but hanging out at the lake can be just as fun. So, pack up your beach towel, some snacks, and plenty of water and hit the beach.

3. Visit a water park
Plan a weekend trip and spend some time at a water park. Whether you live for the thrill water slides give you or prefer lounging by the pool, water parks have something for everyone to enjoy.

4. Explore a new city
Take a day or two to walk around a city you've never been to. Shop at local businesses and see what cool things the town has to offer. The downtown area is a great place to start! You can even plan ahead by checking out the city's website.

Another great option is spending a weekend at an amusement park. No worries if roller coasters aren't your thing. There are plenty of other fun rides to entertain you, not to mention delicious food.

6. Go camping
Explore the great outdoors and wander where the Wi-Fi is weak. There are a lot of nice campgrounds in Iowa. Roasting marshmallows over the campfire and making s'mores is one of the best parts!
7. Get away for a week
Book a flight and go someplace nice. Is your ideal destination tropical, or are you looking for something more adventurous? Do something for yourself and go somewhere that makes you happy. Bring along some friends for double the fun!
8. Take the kids to Disney World
